Bloomberg Businessweek compiled a list of the Best Cities for New College Grads. The list looked at factors such as number of entry-level job postings, city’s average annual pay, unemployment, cost of living, etc. Houston tops the list due to it’s low cost of living and unemployment rate. After Houston, Washington, Dallas, Atlanta, Austin, Minneapolis, round out the top six.

Unemployment Rate: 6.8 percent

They’d have good company with Target (TGT), General Mills (GIS), and PepsiAmericas, a subsidiary of Pepsico (PEP), headquartered in Minneapolis. The city’s diverse industries include electronics, milling, machinery, and medical products among its strongest. The low unemployment rate and attractions, which include Mall of America and the Mississippi River, are alluring. And yes, you can see the Mary Tyler Moore statue, which depicts the actress tossing her hat in the air as she did in the show’s credits.
